Sham 69, Menace, PHOBICS
Sham 69 were the band they called the ‘Dustbin Men Of Punk’ . They’ve done more shows in the last 5 years than since its conception in 1976. Fronted by Tim V the Londoner with a love of football South of the River Thames had brought back some street cred to a band that had been worn thin by previous incumbent Jimmy Pursey. Now back after a studio break and with original Lead guitarist Neil Harris and who was the original founder of the band back in 1975. Reformed in 1986 after the split in 83, the man on the drums was Ian Whitewood who is still drumming for SHAM 69 and this will be his 26th year behind the kit. On Bass guitar for the last 3 years is ex UK SUBS guitarist Al Campbell, who had spent 13 years with them before doing time for Marky Ramone and US Punk legend Jayne County and the Electric Chairs before joining SHAM 69. Now also making up the 2nd guitarist, a format not done since 76 is ex Angelic Upstarts man Tony Feedback. The band have toured the World almost in the last 5 years, with it peaking by touring China, which features in a new film to be released soon. The band will be playing all the hits as well as early rare ones and some from the latest albums. A power band with a powerful message.. full steam ahead the good ship SHAM 69 sails today!
Sham 69 play The Borderline on 24th November. Supporting will be Menace and The Phobics.
