Mystery. The Canadian French speaking province of Quebec has always been partial to the progressive rock genre. From the genre’s earliest days bands from England have always received a warm welcome there. As to why that is, it’s hard to say. Perhaps it’s some ingrained European musical consciousness, or perhaps it’s because they work very hard to retain and foster their own musical culture which happens to be rich in the classical, folk, jazz and rock genres. Who knows for sure, but it should not be surprising to see most of Canada’s progressive rock bands hail from Quebec. One of those bands is Mystery. Raised on a musical diet of rock music it wasn’t long before the band Rush captured his attention quickly followed by the music of Yes and Genesis. The band’s first album was released in 1992 and by 2012 the band had released its 6th studio album “The World is a Game” which was also the third one with vocalist Benoit David, who also sang in Yes from 2008- 2012. Following Benoit’s departure from music, the band has now unveiled a superb new singer in Jean Pageau who will perform with the band on their September 2014 European Tour. http://www.therealmystery.com
