Luna Rossa + Sea of Green
LUNA ROSSA is the stunning new acoustic project from Award-Winning songwriters Anne-Marie Helder and Jonathan Edwards.
This November, the duo will bring their breathtaking music to a select few UK venues with their highly-anticipated ‘Secrets & Lies’ Tour.
The debut album from Luna Rossa – ‘Sleeping Pills & Lullabies’ (2013) – unveiled a whole new world of rootsy, raw and beautifully intimate music.
As the title suggests, there is a haunting quality to the album…
A mixture of darkness and beauty, of pain and serenity.
In Autumn 2014 they will release their second album ‘Secrets & Lies’ – and this show will be the first opportunity to hear Luna Rossa play any of the new material Live.
Enhancing the depth and beauty of the music will be celtic harpist Sarah Dean, and legendary double bassist Andy ‘Wal’ Coughlan
(whose touring credits include Cerys Matthews, Gary Numan, Iona, Alison Moyet, etc).
The duo have described Luna Rossa as a ‘little sister’ project to the band they are most famous for – the rocky, epic anthems of PANIC ROOM.
But, while there is an unmistakeable magic to the sound of this creative team, Luna Rossa has a spirit and direction all of its own.
Grounded in the simplicity of grand piano and acoustic guitar, the shimmering addition of celtic harp, double bass,
and live strings (on each album) create a deeply indulgent soundscape….
While loop tracks and samples help keep it fresh and 21st-Century.
Lead vocalist Anne-Marie Helder was voted ‘Best Female Vocalist’ by ‘PROG’ Magazine for 2 years’ running;
she is also no stranger to the acoustic scene, having toured with such luminaries as Steve Hackett, Ultravox,
Glenn Tilbrook and Nick Harper as a solo artist.
But it is the winning combination of Helder and Edwards, along with their band of world-class musicians,
which make Luna Rossa something very special indeed.
This will be a night of spine-tingling music, performed by songwriters and musicians at the top of their game…
Expect to be wooed, wowed, and warmed by candlelight!
“Enchanting, entrancing… other-worldly“
“Wistful… Sparkling… Superb midnight fireside fare.”
