Die Krupps + Janosch Moldau + The Red Paintings
When DIE KRUPPS started to mix electronics with heavy rock riffs on their album “I” (which included the song “Metal Machine Music”) back in 1991, they set a new standard which became commercialised and formularized by other German bands such as Rammstein, Eisbrecher etc.
DIE KRUPPS continued the series of numbered albums with “II – The Final Option”, which included band classics such as “Fatherland”, “To the Hilt” and “Bloodsuckers”, followed by “III – Odyssey of the Mind” and “Paradise Now”, which was not numbered but the factual IV.
DIE KRUPPS sound paved the way in Europe for US Industrial bands such as MINISTRY and NIN, with whom they also toured.
A catalyst for DIE KRUPPS’ successful sound venture at that time was the collaboration with German Thrash Metallists Accu§er, whose ex-drummer now returns to the fold after 20 years!
DIE KRUPPS innovation of hard sequencers vs. hard guitar riffs, which in the mid 90s were pounded out by HEATHEN and EXODUS guitarist Lee Altus, can best be described as Metal Machine Music – an innovative sound that fills dance floors and guarantees explosive live shows.
This summer DIE KRUPPS return with their new album “V- Metal Machine Music” , a return to a guitar loaded aggressive sound, even more intense than in the hard rocking ’90s. Stylistically, “V” closes the circle which began with the album “I”. For the upcoming shows DIE KRUPPS line-up consists of Jürgen Engler (voc) Ralf Dörper (synthesizer) and Marcel Zürcher (guitar), and will be completed by drummer Volker Borchert (ex- Accu§er) and guitarist Steve Römhild (ex-Richthofen, ex-Warpath).
Old and new DIE KRUPPS fans are in for an extraordinary full electro metal assault! To The Hilt!!!
