After an electrifying sold out show at The Jazz Café 12 months previously, multiple award-winner Ian Siegal and his band return to London for another night of super-charged blues and Americana.
With the plaudits still reverberating for his 2015 album ‘One Night In Amsterdam’ (“Brilliant album, remarkable talent” Music News), Siegal promises a mix of his back catalogue hits, recent creations, and a few surprises.
While he is best known as a bluesman, that is just one shade in the palette of an artiste who slips between continents, eras and expectations. His love of nascent rock ‘n’ rollers like Little Richard and Elvis, blues titans such as Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf, and the experimentalism of Tom Waits, fuels a powerful voice and magnetic stage presence.
In the past few years he has collected no less than eight British Blues Awards, three European Blues Awards and two nominations in the US-based Blues Music Awards (effectively the Grammy’s of the blues). Add to that two from MOJO magazine for Best Blues Album of the Year. Ian is the only non-American to achieve this distinction. But don’t expect him to dine out on his press cuttings or sit polishing his trophies. For Siegal, it’s all about the next show, the next song and the next great record!
”Awash with wit, lust and distraction…..the cleverest writer and most magnetic performer of Blues in the UK.” MOJO
“A national treasure.” CLASSIC ROCK
