Jack Hues & the Quartet with Kelvin Corcoran
Jack Hues and the Quartet grew out of evenings jamming at Jack’s house in Canterbury with Sam Bailey and various other musicians. They would play through Monk, Miles, Mingus before arriving at a three volume series of self-written collaborations. From these sessions, “A Thesis on the Ballad” was born.
An intriguing blend of jazz, folk and Canterbury scene rock, Jack Hues and the Quartet have been called “an intriguing, moody, sonic journey” in Mojo, “infectious and bursting with ideas” in The Independent’s Album of the Week segment with the BBC Online declaring that the Quartet “are perpetuating the Canterbury scene in fine style.”
A Thesis on the Ballad will be launched on this tour. Album available on CD and Vinyl.
