“The History of Stray” featuring Del Bromham and Peter Dyer

Please note: the Preacher Stone gig originally advertised on this day has been cancelled. All tickets will be refunded within the next 7-10 days.

Stray was originally formed by four school friends back in 1966. By 1970, the band had released their first self-titled album and had become a hugely popular act on the club scene in the UK and Europe. Fifty years later and still led by guitarist/ singer/ songwriter Del Bromham, Stray remain one of the best live acts on the circuit. With a career spanning over thirty years, eleven studio albums, four live albums and a DVD recorded live at London’s Borderline club.he band will play a selection of songs, which they have recorded over the years.

This is a different show to the all-but sold out “Stray’s original line-up Reunion” on November 17th but just as unique.

Tonight, Del Bromham and the band (joined by guests) will play a selection of the songs he has recorded and played over the years. Heavily featured is Peter Dyer, who first joined Stray in 1974.

“In the 1960s, the first wave of heavy guitar idols were usually Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and Jeff beck. Bromham’s past work should be reappraised, as he clearly slipped through the net.” – Penguin Encyclopedia of Popular Music

In 2016, still featuring original lead guitar hero, Del Bromham, Stray are a melodic mix of Hard Rock and Heavy Blues. Valhalla has won the prestigious Album of the Year award. A regular star turn at the annual Cambridge Rock Festival, Del Bromham’s Stray mix scintillating guitar playing in a power trio format with melodic anthemic songs such as “All in Your Mind” – covered by the million selling Iron Maiden.

The current line-up of Stray is Del Bromham, Peter Dyer, Stu Uren, and Karl Randall.

Pearl Handled Revolver
…were brought together by a mutual love of all things gritty, Psychedelic and cinematic, combined with a desire to create music uninhibited by considerations of genre, taste or decency. From the very start, the band have been passionate about following their musical instincts rather than adhering to a particular style or fashion. Their unique take on the heavier side of life is borne of this adventurous spirit, which has, in turn, enabled them to absorb a myriad of influences drawn from the darkest corners of the Blues to the outer edges of Psychedelic expression, from primal Rock ‘n’ Roll to cerebral film score.

“(Pearl Handled Revolver) sound like some half-remembered dream you had about Tom Waits fronting the Doors. Creepy, Groovy, and utterly infectious.” – Classic Rock Magazine

This will be another night to remember from Del Bromham, Stray and friends. We hope you can make it.

Note: Del Bromham and Stray on stage from 7:45pm with guests joining them throughout the evening.
