A force of nature and an incredibly talented singer-songwriter, former Phantom Limb frontwoman Yola Carter was raised on gospel and is a greatly in-demand singer and writer on the dance scene (Duke Dumont, Massive Attack, Chase and Status, DJ Fresh and many more).
However, country and soul from the likes of The Band, Gillian Welch, Staple Singers, Emmylou Harris, Otis Redding and Dolly Parton has always been her true passion and she has now come home musically to embark upon the latest chapter of her career as a solo Americana artist.
Yola’s powerhouse voice and stage presence, superb original songs, thrilling arrangements from a fantastic band combine to create a sensational live show that has blown away audiences across the summer at festivals including Wood, SummerTyne, Southern Fried, Maverick and Nashville Meets London and several dates opening for St Paul & The Broken Bones. She was also chosen to represent the UK at the prestigious Americana Music Association showcase in Nashville in September, where she made a huge impact, being selected by the massively influential NPR as one of their top 10 artists of the week and generating a huge industry buzz.
